There were not enough inventive contests in the former snowboard-scene. That's why “Red Bull Gap Session” was developed. Only at this unique snowboarding-get together the participants shape their own kicker for the contest. At the event the longest airtime and the best tricks will get a price.
“Red Bull Gap Session” took first place in 2006, in 2007 it had to be cancelled due to bad wheather. On the 8th of march 2008 snowboarding will be pushed to the next level again - promise.
Everything was set up, there was just one ingredient missing, and that was a pretty crucial one - the snow. Garmisch-Partenkirchen has suffered from poor snow conditions all winter long, much like the rest of the European Alps, so the organisators were forced to cancel the Red Bull Gap Session 2007.

The premier of the Red Bull Gap Session took place at the 11th of march 2006. 4.000 fans freaked out over the 20 meter high monster kicker. Initiator David Benedeck sticked a double corck 1260 for the first time and won the the "best trick". Chrsitophe Schmidt was unbelieveable 3,10 Seconds in the air and won the the "longest airtime" title. Mathieu Crepel from France was chosen as the the "best rider" of the event.
